My Grandfather wrote articles for Punch and would read the classics to me as a child. My Father also wrote short stories, but was never published. He was also a great storyteller.

I continued the family tradition by writing short stories for my brothers and sisters and my own children to keep them entertained on rainy English holidays. My stories were influenced by Enid Blyton and the Famous Five, given to me by my mother, who encouraged me to read everything. I progressed to Agatha Christie, to Daphne du Maurier and to Jane Austen. These five women have influenced me the most.

During the 1990s I worked for my father's publishing company producing medical journals for health authorities. This gave me a broad overview of the industry and the technological changes that were taking place. I also produced our company magazine, writing articles and encouraging others to do so. My latest article is to be published in the Lansdowne Club annual journal (distribution 7,500 members) in September 2007.

For the past seventeen years I have written, delivered and evaluated speeches and provided motivational training programmes developing self confidence and networking skills.
As a result of family influences, my education and my experience in the workplace, I aim to write inspirational stories. As well as "The Rookery Mysteries". I have also written two other novels: ‘SexyFiction’ and ‘Dancing Queens’ as well as co-writing a series called "I Love My Shoes" with my daughter Sarah Waterhouse.
