Secret radar stations,
Secret pipelines that were to stretch to Normandy,
Crucial for the D-Day landings.
Their Head Quarters – Rookery.
But, Rookery was also the secret burial place
Of a young girl serving in the ATS,
Horribly unearthed into the present.
And there is a connection to a real ghost,
That still haunts Rookery’s near neighbour,
The Grand Hotel – to this day.
